ClearOrbit has released its Global Track and Trace Solution for Government Assets and Materials. The application gives government agencies and contract firms supply-chain control, intelligence and visibility. It also helps to acquire secure, cost-efficient transportation across global logistical operations. Using barcoding, radio frequency identification and linkage to the data system of record, the system is now being deployed by companies in aerospace and defense, high-tech and other industries. Among current users are the Land and Armaments division of BAE Systems, which is automating data collection throughout the manufacturing process. Collected data becomes immediately visible in BAE's Oracle system via real-time update technology. The system integration gives the user full transaction validation to catch errors at the source, ClearOrbit said. Real-time links with program-based costing provide accurate financial reporting and proper item ownership at all times, according to the vendor.
