Odyssey Software, Inc., a provider of applications for mobile-device management, has developed new Athena extensions for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007. The company is also making available evaluation kits, which enable prospective customers easily to evaluate the Athena for System Center Configuration Manager 2007. The new device-management extensions are implemented as Athena Feature Packs, providing comprehensive support to mobile workers using Windows Mobile devices. New functionality includes live, remote access to detailed information about the status of a device's integrated phone, summary statistics about phone and messaging utilization, information about the phone's current cell-tower association, and enhanced wireless wide area network (WWAN) reporting. In addition, Odyssey Software is offering two kits to simplify and accelerate evaluation of Athena for Configuration Manager 2007. The Laptop Evaluation Kit provides a self-contained environment, which includes all hardware, and software components required for evaluation of the product. The Virtualized Evaluation Kit utilizes the Microsoft Virtual Hard Disk Test Drive Program to deliver a virtual image of Configuration Manager 2007 preconfigured with Athena. The feature allows prospective customers to make the evaluation in their own environments and with their own mobile devices.
