Panasonic Computer Solutions Co. has announced upgrades to several models within its Toughbook line of notebooks and mobile computers. The company's updated Toughbook 52 now includes a touchscreen option with integrated stylus holder and 1,000 nit anti-glare and anti-reflective screen for improved viewability in sunlight. The model also comes with an adjustable dual overhead keyboard light with four brightness levels, for use in dark or low-light operating conditions. The semi-rugged Toughbook 52 is a drop- and spill-tested notebook featuring a magnesium alloy case, shock-mounted hard drive and flexible internal connectors. Panasonic also announced upgrades to its Toughbook 30 clamshell rugged laptop and Toughbook 19 rugged convertible tablet computer. Both incorporate 1,000 nit LCD screens, circular polarization technology and anti-glare and anti-reflective screen treatments. Upgrades include improved security and remote management, expanded memory capability, 40-percent longer battery life and larger-capacity hard drives. Both models offer full sunlight viewability, as well as a "concealed mode" which allows users to turn off all device lights with the press of a function key, without having to power down the machine.
