C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc. has opened an office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The location will be used as a launching point for further movement into the region, the company said. It was motivated by continued growth in Vietnam's exports to the U.S., which are predicted to increase by 14.5 percent this year. C.H. Robinson's business in that market has grown substantially over the past three years, according to Jeff Scovill, vice president of global forwarding. The new Vietnam office will specialize in air and ocean transportation, distribution, consolidation and value-added transportation and logistics for the Southeast Asia region. Nguyen Thi San will manage the branch and report to the Singapore-based general manager of Southeast Asia. C.H. Robinson serves some 32,000 customers through a network of more than 228 offices, with 7,900 employees in North America, Europe, Asia and South America.
