Centric Software, a vendor of product-lifecycle management (PLM) applications for consumer goods and private-label industries, has updated its Centric 8 system to comply with the new "10+2" filing regulations of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The new Customs rule, which calls for additional shipment details from importers and carriers, took effect on Jan 26. Such details must be filed 24 hours prior to the loading of cargo at foreign ports of exit. Centric's new capability allows users quickly to view 10+2 information and other sourcing data, including supplier performance, compliance and other key metrics. Centric 8 manages and reports the 10 data elements needed to create the Importer Security Filing (ISF) as mandated by the regulations. The tool automatically pulls required data at the issuance or change of any purchase order. It handles last-minute shipment changes through the modification or addition of purchase orders, while providing data that is fully ready for use by customs brokers and freight forwarders. Centric's applications are aimed at sellers of apparel, footwear, accessories and other fast-moving consumer goods.
