The Transportation & Logistics Council has announced the fourth edition of "Freight Claims in Plain English," with a publication date of March. Authored by George Carl Pezold and William J. Augello, the book is aimed at transportation and logistics professionals who are involved in claims for loss or damage of freight in transit. It is used as a text for students of transportation, as well as a reference tool for attorneys and paralegals involved in claims problems. The revised and updated fourth edition has been expanded to cover a range of new subjects and recent developments affecting transportation and freight claims. Topics include surface carrier, intermodal, common carrier, water carrier, air carrier and warehouseman's liability; burdens of proof; limitations of liability; time limits for surface modes; aids to claim recovery; the impact of deregulation; claims procedures and administration, and Mexican annotations. The two-volume publication, including text and appendices, runs to more than 1,200 pages.
