SAP AG has created a number of enhancements to its SAP BusinessObjects Edge software. The additions include a business-intelligence application for small and medium-sized companies. Mid-market clients can now use SAP BusinessObjects Polestar software, a guided data-navigation application which helps users to explore information and answer key questions via a simple search. SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI 3.1 also offers integration with data sources from a variety of vendors. It supports customers with Oracle integration kits for the Oracle eBusiness Suite, as well as JD Edwards, PeopleSoft and Siebel applications. Support is also offered for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and SharePoint Server 2008, as well as an updated .NET development kit. Packaged versions of BusinessObjects enterprise performance management (EPM) applications will aid mid-market users in creating better-informed business strategies and performing planning, budgeting and consolidation, SAP said.
