TradeBeam Inc. says its on-demand global trade management (GTM) software and services have helped a provider of test and measurement solutions, devices and components used in the telecommunications, optical and wireless industries to successfully meet its own regulatory obligations.
With customers spread across four continents, Anritsu needed to establish a single, global export control platform that would enable compliance process automation. Maintaining export compliance excellence had become increasingly time consuming. Restricted-party list compilation and screening, license requirement determination and end user screening were manually intensive processes that increased corporate risk of noncompliance and ate into the productivity of Anritsu's order management, compliance and logistics departments.
Anritsu sought a technology solution that could be used cross-functionally and globally and ultimately chose an on-demand export compliance system from TradeBeam. Anritsu integrated the TradeBeam system into its multiple ERP solutions to enable automated screening processes in the United States and Canada, while offices in other regions are able to access the system via their web browsers to perform manual screenings.
"Tightening regulatory requirements post-9/11 combined with our rapid growth forced us to implement an export compliance automation solution," says Jane Solomon, trade compliance manager of Anritsu. "The TradeBeam system has reduced compliance-related risks and improved our productivity as well as enabled us to enhance customer service, while reducing costs."
Anritsu now has fully automated screening throughout the quote-to-ship cycle in its North American operations. Under this process, automated screening is done at multiple points of the cycle, including at the time of initial order quotation, at order placement, at order amendment, and at time of shipment. When an event occurs, such as order placement, Anritsu's ERP system automatically sends an XML file to the TradeBeam system, which screens the transaction. Restricted party screening, license determination screening and end-use/user screening are all performed.
