Oracle has released version 9.3 of its Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, with new risk-analysis capability. Part of Oracle's "Applications Unlimited" program, Agile PLM 9.3 now provides for the analysis of risk related to supplier status and compliance, parts and product quality. It detects which products are most impacted by quality issues, then prioritizes customer complaints by urgency and severity. In addition, the tool identifies which products or product lines have the most late-stage changes during a new-product release cycle, and outlines the severity of those changes and their operational impact. The analytics enhancements are also available to customers running Agile PLM 9.2.2 and higher, Oracle said. A new PLM backbone provides a complete service-oriented architecture (SOA), which helps companies to integrate the application's components to existing engineering and enterprise systems. An SOA-based PLM platform offers modularized Web services, event management and extensible scripting for all PLM components, including computer-assisted design (CAD) objects. New user interface controls allow for in-line table editing, context-aware pop-ups, new drag-and-drop capabilities, type-ahead fields and more streamlined controls, Oracle said.
