C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. has acquired Walker Logistics Overseas Ltd., an international freight forwarder headquartered in London. Established in 1977, Walker offers air and ocean freight, warehousing, courier and logistics services. It has more than 75 employees in five offices in the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Netherlands. Walker's customers consist primarily of companies in the electronics, telecommunications, medical, sporting goods and military sectors. Jeff Scovill, vice president of C.H. Robinson, says the acquisition "expands our capabilities in the Asia-to-Europe trade and strengthens our distribution and gateway capabilities for two key European markets - London and Amsterdam." C.H. Robinson has been providing transportation and logistics services in Europe for more than 25 years. It operates 27 branches with more than 380 employees throughout the continent. In all, the company's network includes more than 232 offices and 7,500 employees in North America, Europe, Asia, South America, Australia and the Middle East. C.H. Robinson reported gross revenues of approximately $8.6bn in 2008.
