RedPrairie Corp. said it will support a tool for remote mobile device management, the new MobiControl V6 from SOTI Inc. As a result, RedPrairie customers will be able to track and configure radio frequency devices from a single source. Users won't have to worry about lost, misplaced or stolen equipment, said Gary Morgan, RedPrairie's vice president of technology services. The system allows for rapid reconfiguration of a device's firmware, security or network settings, and scanner symbologies following a repair or loss of preferences. MobiControl allows for "zero-touch" deployment of device settings, including software preferences, upgrades and downgrades, and network adjustments. In addition, RedPrairie customers will have access to help-desk tools and security features such as lockdown modes and remote wipe capabilities.
