Schneider National has expanded its regional service to the U.S. Southeast and Midwest. It had previously begun offering such service to the western and south-central portions of the country. The move brings 29 states under the service umbrella of Schneider Regional. Marc Rogers, vice president and general manager of the business unit, said the carrier had originally planned to roll out service to the Southeast and Midwest in late 2009 or early 2010, but customer response to the Regional offering convinced it to accelerate the expansion schedule. Schneider has integrated the regional service with its longhaul and intermodal network. It plans to complete the final phase of the regional service rollout, with expansion into Northeast states, by early 2010. Schneider National provides a variety of truckload, logistics and intermodal services, with a presence in more than 28 countries.
