SAP AG has joined with Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP) to create an integrated offering for business intelligence and data warehousing. Under their new agreement, the companies will integrate the SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (BW) and the HP Neoview data warehouse platform. Customers will have the flexibility to deploy the SAP application, and other analytics software from the vendor, on the Neoview platform, which can manage large volumes of data through parallel processing and "shared nothing" (independent node) architecture. The HP Neoview platform is complemented by NetWeaver BW as well as SAP's NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator software for the data-warehouse layer, and applications from the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio. SAP also announced the expansion of an existing global partnership with Novell, Inc., provider of a Linux platform and portfolio of integrated IT management software. The new deal includes the delivery of governance, risk and compliance (GRC) applications. The companies said they are cooperating on product integration, and planning to collaborate on the marketing of new products related to the GRC sector. The effort includes the integration of GRC tools from SAP's BusinessObjects portfolio with Novell security and identity products.
