Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. has improved service through its Northwest gateway into Canada. Effective Nov. 9, the change connects more than 65 Old Dominion service centers to Edmonton and Calgary, Canada. By utilizing the Northwest gateway, the carrier can reduce border-crossing times for customers, according to Chuck Powell, vice president of the Pacific Northwest region. The new service provides a single gateway into Alberta, Canada through Old Dominion's location in Great Falls, Mont. Old Dominion is a less-than-truckload carrier with four operating groups: OD Domestic, OD Expedited, OD Global and OD Technology. It is based in Thomasville, N.C.
