Kewill Forwarding, a provider of global trade and logistics software, has integrated Sage Accpac Financials with its own freight-forwarding application. The move gives forwarders an industry-standard system, the company said. Data no longer must be separately entered into operational and financial systems. Companies can maintain just one version of their data, improving the ability make informed decisions. They can also bring new customers on board more quickly, Kewill claimed. Additional enhancements to Kewill's software include a Document Packet tool, allowing the user to define which documents to group together to send in a "bundle" to clients or partners. Because the process is automated, the user no longer must remember to send out relevant paperwork. An Autoresponder tool allows them to manage automatic scheduling of follow-on activities. Participants can define the services to be triggered after chosen milestones have been completed. Alerts can be set for each milestone, which act as a trigger for the next action; the resulting notification can then be sent to customers to inform them of the progress of the delivery.
