AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), the scheduled cargo subsidiary of Russia's Volga-Dnepr Group, has added a Boeing 747-400ER freighter to its fleet. The new aircraft brings to four the number of extended-range Boeing 747-400s in the airline's fleet. It also operates one 747-300 and two 747-200s. The new aircraft will allow the airline to pursue a strategy of fleet and network expansion, concurrent with the improvement of hub operations at Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport. ABC carried 14 percent more tonnage in the first 10 months of 2009 than in the same period of 2008, the company said.
