Oracle Corp. has made available version 7.3 of its Demantra software for demand management, forecasting, sales and operations planning and predictive trade planning. The latest release enhances new-product introduction capability, improving the ability of users to forecast demand for items with little or no sales history. It also provides better insight into product lifecycles, seasonal demand peaks and the impact of promotions, the vendor said. Users can better plan for configure-to-order products with multiple optional or mandatory subcomponents, while tracking the interaction between items and components, and automatically calculating dependent demand. The release offers integrated business planning, so that companies can more easily tie together financial and operating plans. Also included are improvements in worksheet usability and performance, security and scalability. In another company announcement, Oracle has integrated project-management and enterprise resource planning, with the availability of Oracle Application Integration Architecture Release 2.5 PPM Process Integration Packs. The Integration Pack for Primavera P6 is now connected to the Oracle E-Business Suite, to integrate project management with financial information for full project-portfolio management functionality. Oracle has also connected Primavera P6 to its JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software, so that users can synchronize information regardless of where they created projects. With either pack, they can synchronize project structures, resource details, budgets, actual costs, progress and cost to complete.
