APL Logistics has been awarded a contract to provide intercontinental logistics services to luxury crystal and ceramics producer Waterford Wedgwood.
The contract encompasses all UK imports and exports to worldwide markets for the group's Wedgwood and Royal Doulton brands.
APL Logistics was appointed the China-UK logistics provider following Waterford Wedgwood's acquisition of Royal Doulton early last year. A series of trials of APL Logistics' services, including its vendor management services in China, as well as its warehousing, cargo consolidation, packaging and labeling capabilities, followed.
"APL Logistics has a global reach and a valuable business ethic of treating customers on an individual basis, and not just as another account," says Karen Chawner, Waterford Wedgwood's international freight and trade manager. "We have been impressed by the service we have experienced with our trial shipments and look forward to this being extended through our global supply chain."
