Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) has enhanced its ocean service from North America to the Middle East. The company is a provider of transportation services from factory to dealer. It targets the automotive, agricultural and construction-equipment industries, along with handling project cargoes such as railcars, power generators, mining equipment and yachts. Beginning in March, WWL boosted its service frequency from North America from one voyage per month to two or three sailings per month. Vessels deployed in the service can accommodate high and heavy items, as well as breakbulk, project cargoes and boats. WWL has also added direct calls to ports in Umm Qasr, Iraq and Karachi, Pakistan. The service had previously included Beirut, Lebanon; Aqaba, Jordan; Jeddah and Dammam, Saudi Arabia; Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. Bookings may be made up to three months or more in advance of a voyage, WWL said.
