OD-Global, the freight-forwarding and logistics services division of Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc., is opening regional command centers in four markets: Atlanta, Dallas, New York City, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The facilities, located within existing Old Dominion offices, will be fully functional by June. They will handle operations for OD-Global's Northern, Southern and Gulf Coast regions, as well as for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The four regional centers are in addition to OD-Global's central command center in Thomasville, N.C. The business unit provides worldwide less-than-containerload and full containerload services for export and import and foreign-to-foreign shipments. Services include air freight, drayage between ports and rail ramps, and guaranteed, expedited or date-critical ocean transport. OD-Global moves shipments between 40 and 50 countries per month, with services extending to Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Europe, the Far East, Central America, South America and Oceania.
