Westfalia Technologies Inc. will release version 2.2 of its warehouse management system (WMS) software, known as Savanna.NET, in June of 2010. The update includes a standard interface which allows the WMS to "talk" with any enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, a faster and more efficient storage locator, and a more user-friendly screen. Savanna 2.2 controls items, orders, customers and inventory segments of the WMS, while providing standard integration to any ERP system. Standardization of the interface provides for more rapid WMS implementation, the vendor claimed. The refined "find storage location" algorithm will improve the speed and efficiency of storing and receiving pallets and totes, the company added. Improvements to the WMS user screen, or WMS Client, allow users to rename and reorganize columns, and sort inventory movement data in whichever manner they prefer. Enhancements to the "system status" window allow for more efficient screen usage while processing information more efficiently, Westfalia said.
