The American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) has been recognized as the 2010 Partner of the Year by National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (National VOAD). ALAN, a non-profit organization focused on engaging the supply chain community to assist in humanitarian relief efforts, received the award for providing support to National VOAD members in times of disaster response.
National VOAD is a national coordinating body for the major community-based and faith-based disaster response organizations, including the American Red Cross, LDS Charities, The Salvation Army, and Feeding America.
"Our selection of the American Logistic Aid Network highlights the importance of the business supply chain community to relief agencies in times of need," said Diana Rothe-Smith, executive director for the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster. "Since its inception, ALAN and its network have offered a constructive and focused response to the needs of NVOAD members providing humanitarian relief services. We are proud to recognize ALAN as the NVOAD Partner of the Year for 2010."
"All of us at ALAN are honored to be recognized by National VOAD," said Jock Menzies, ALAN president. "We're proud of the close working relationship between our organizations and encouraged that this partnership is helping to make a positive impact in times of disaster."
