Evergreen Line, Orient Overseas Container Line and Simatech Shipping have launched a joint liner service linking Southeast Asia, India and the Middle East. The ASEAN-Gulf-ISC (AGI) service will have a total voyage time of 35 days. The port rotation is Laem Chabang, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Klang, Colombo, Jebel Ali, Karachi, Mundra, Colombo, Port Klang, Singapore and Laem Chabang. The service will deploy five ships of 2,700 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). It was scheduled to be initiated with the Aug. 20 departure from Laem Chabang of the Evergreen vessel LT Genova. The three lines said the service was initiated to meet growing trade demand between Association of Southeast Asian (ASEAN) nations, India, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. The AGI service will shorten transit times and enhance the region's shipping network, they claimed.
