Penske Logistics has opened a factory distribution center in Manaus, Brazil. The facility, Penske's first in Manaus, covers 110,000 square feet and is close to a key industrial free-trade zone. Bill Scroggie, managing director of Penske Logistics Brazil, said the company can now provide warehousing services to manufacturers in the region. It will store and ship Whirlpool-brand air conditioners and microwaves to the client's retail customers throughout Brazil. Penske performs warehousing, sequencing, and inbound and outbound transportation services across Whirlpool product lines in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Brazil. A wholly owned subsidiary of Penske Truck Leasing, Penske Logistics has operations in North and South America, Europe and Asia. It performs design, planning and execution for transportation, warehousing and international freight forwarding and carrier management.
