RedPrairie Corp. has enhanced its Warehouse Management software with the addition of an Environment Manager module. Included in the 2010.2 Warehouse Management release, the new tool allows users to propagate data between warehouse instances while checking for data differences between the two. Previous applications required users to configure their setups twice - once for testing and once for production - when implementing the system at a new site or on-boarding a new client, RedPrairie noted. Environment Manager removes the extra step by generating templates based on relatively static information such as location, item definition and configuration setup. As a result, the vendor claimed, users can reduce the amount of time needed to go live with warehouses, or bring up new clients within those facilities. Environment Manager can also help RedPrairie users with various other data-propagation tasks, including RedPrairie software upgrades, the migration of data between multi-warehouse environments, and on-boarding of newly built facilities.
