APL has inaugurated an ocean container service linking China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. The new China Indonesia Straits Service will operate on a weekly routing in APL's intra-Asia network. The carrier will deploy four ships, each of 3,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). The service is set to debut on Nov. 14, with the sailing from Shanghai of the APL Sydney. The China Indonesia Straits Service is the third dedicated intra-Asia service to be introduced by APL since 2009. The port rotation is Shanghai (Waigaoqiao), Ningbo, Xiamen, Chiwan, Singapore, Jakarta, Surabaya, Jakarta, Port Klang (Westport), Singapore, Laem Chabang and Shanghai.
