Datalogic Mobile is partnering with Skyhook on location services via Windows mobile devices. Datalogic is a provider of mobile computing technology. Skyhook specializes in location positioning, context and intelligence. The new deal between the companies involves the deployment of Skyhook's technology on Datalogic Mobile's systems. Datalogic will include Skyhook's Core Engine on its latest generation of mobile computers. Skyhook's software-only location system determines precise device location by synthesizing data from Wi-Fi access points, global positioning system (GPS) satellites and cell towers, using advanced hybrid positioning algorithms. Datalogic said it will use the Skyhook software to further develop its range of connection possibilities. Datalogic's newest line of mobile computers includes the Elf, an industrial personal digital assistant which will be the first to include Skyhook's embedded technology.
