RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity solutions provider, announced the completed implementation of its On-Demand WMS today with Samaritan's Feet - a non-profit organization that has a goal to provide shoes to 10 million impoverished children over the next 10 years. RedPrairie donated the solution on an ongoing and recurring basis to help Samaritan's Feet reach that goal.
Samaritan's Feet is currently using the WMS at its distribution center in Charlotte, N.C. In the coming months, the organization plans to roll the solution out to facilities in San Bernardino, Ca., Washington, D.C., Indianapolis, Ind., and global warehouses in South America and Africa.
"Logistics and supply chain management are very crucial to the success of our mission," said Manny Ohonme, founder and president of Samaritan's Feet. "Having partners that can help provide us with the tools, infrastructure and support to deliver millions of shoes around the world in a cost-effective and efficient manner is vital when we need to get maximum benefit from each dollar we receive. RedPrairie has helped make that happen, and this solution will truly help us change more lives around the world."
Prior to starting Samaritan's Feet in 2003, Ohonme was the vice president of product management for RedPrairie, and credits the company with helping Samaritan's Feet get started.
"The demands organizations like Samaritan's Feet place on themselves to serve impoverished communities around the world often go unnoticed," says RedPrairie CEO Mike Mayoras. "Supporting the mission that they seek to execute goes beyond good business. We feel it is our responsibility as a company to give back."
