Challenges like collapsing demand, unreliable forecasts and increasingly volatile risk have forced companies to take radical action during the past 18 months in order to deliver on profit expectations. Many of these efforts were put in place to provide immediate relief, but as the economic outlook remains challenged, there is a need for companies to build long-term, sustainable processes that will continue to deliver value.
To keep the supply chain in-sync while managing these changes, companies need to go back to basics and review supply chain fundamentals. Small changes at the core - such as adequate positioning of inventory across the value chain from component suppliers to manufacturing to retail - can create a ripple effect of improvements across the greater value chain.
This session will examine supply chain fundamentals and provide a path to achieving essential objectives in today's recession-weary operating environment.
