BNSF will spend $5bn on infrastructure this year, topping its record $4bn investment last year, says Steve Bobb, chief marketing officer. In addition to maintaining and improving service and capacity, BNSF will invest in logistics hubs and other future-focused infrastructure.

Oxford Properties' industrial real estate portfolio has topped the 10 million-square-foot mark, and it intends to double its size by 2018.

Industrial real estate investment trust Prologis Inc. disclosed that it will develop three inventory logistics facilities in Japan. These facilities will span 3.2 million square feet of space and offer its clientele central distribution to Tokyo and the neighboring metropolitan area.
