With most holiday merchandise safely in the country despite significant congestion impacting West Coast ports, import cargo volume at the nation's major retail container ports is expected to continue to slow down this month, according to the monthly Global Port Tracker report released today by the National Retail Federation and Hackett Associates.

Around 85 percent of emissions come from containerships and tankers. Containerships have short port stays, but high emissions during these stays.
FTR has released preliminary data showing November 2014 North American Class 8 truck net orders at 40,560 units indicating an extremely strong truck market. This is the second consecutive month above the 40,000 level. November order activity, similar to the previous month, was concentrated at a few OEMs with the remainder falling short of October order input. Class 8 orders have totaled an impressive 363,000 in the last 12-month period.
All Nippon Airways and Lufthansa Cargo AG have begun an air cargo joint venture on Japan-Europe routes that they applied for in September. The first shipment was sent by forwarder Schenker-Seino Co. Ltd. It was booked via Lufthansa Cargo and was transported by ANA on flight number NH 277 from Tokyo to London.
