Millennials may be digital natives, but for all their supposed reliance on mobile devices, this group is more likely to shop on Thanksgiving Day and do so in stores, according to a new survey by location-based mobile platform Retale.
For many companies, 2015 is looking rosy. The overall economy is finally accelerating out of the worst recession since the 1930s, helped in no small part by construction as the Construction Backlog Indicator (published by Associated Builders and Contractors) reached an all-time high in June.
Import volume at the nation's major retail container ports is expected to grow 1.8 percent in December over the same month last year, and the year should end with an increase of 2.3 percent over 2012, according to the monthly Global Port Tracker report released by the National Retail Federation and Hackett Associates.
