Centric Software Inc. has developed a Quality Module as part of the vendor's Centric 8 PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) suite of software. Centric sells PLM applications to makers of hard and soft lines in the luxury, fashion and consumer goods industries. Using the new quality module, developers can compare and contrast multiple test runs for a variety of samples of the same product or material. Tests and test templates help companies to capture results against those samples. Quality teams can use standalone tests or configurable templates that they define for testing protocols. Centric 8 stores quality, safety and compliance test results, providing all users with a "single version of the truth," the vendor said. Consistent test definitions allow teams to add and subtract test variables, track results against those definitions, and compare the results. If a test's outcome is unexpected or unacceptable, the quality module allows the user to ask a supplier to repeat the test with a defined variation.
