EZCom Software Inc. has enhanced its Lingo hosted electronic data interchange (EDI) service. The vendor has equipped the tool with greater Autonomous System Number (ASN) flexibility as well as new pallets capability. According to eZCom, Lingo's batch-processing functionality allows users to create hundreds of ASNs in a matter of seconds. In the spring of 2010, the company announced enhanced ASN maneuverability, allowing users to split orders and stores from ASNs, then add them to new or alternative shipments. Vendors can also consolidate smaller shipments into a single larger shipment, while keeping all fulfillment details intact. Users don't have to repack cartons on ASNs, reprint barcode labels or replace labels on physical cartons. Now, they can select individual cartons within orders and move them to a new or alternative ASN. The addition of a pallets capability to the vendor's hosted EDI service allows users to create multiple pallets and add cartons to pallets in batch, either by manual selection or by uploading cartons from an external file or warehouse-management system. They can also incorporate barcode scanning to initiate pallet selection, assign cartons and close pallets.
