The warehouse management system (WMS) market is now roughly 30 years old and approximately $1.6bn in total revenue. Much has changed since the 1980s when the early pioneers were developing the first software systems to automate distribution operations. Highly customized WMS projects have more or less become a thing of the past as the market has matured.
