Transplace has acquired SCO Logistics, a Philadelphia, Penn.-based provider of logistics services to the chemical and process manufacturing industries. According to Transplace president and chief executive officer Tom Sanderson, the deal gives the company access to a new set of customers, while building on Transplace's investment in a transportation-management system (TMS) and Lean Six Sigma capabilities. Transplace, a vendor of outsourced transportation-management services and logistics technology, has revenue in excess of $800m, serving approximately 650 customers. Owned by CI Capital Partners since 2009, it provides full-service transportation outsourcing, carrier contracting and negotiation, and freight-brokerage services.
