Fluensee has formed a strategic agreement with 4Front Engineered Solutions for the use of radio frequency identification (RFID) in yard management. Fluensee provides a variety of RFID asset tracking and supply-chain management tools; 4Front is a designer and manufacturer of safety, productivity and environmental control products for loading dock and warehouse applications. Under the new deal, 4Front will add Fluensee's RFID yard-management system to its 4Sight yard and dock-management tool. Fluensee Yard relies on passive RFID and global positioning system (GPS) technologies to provide real-time locating capabilities. According to the new partners, the combined systems can help to reduce trailer bottlenecks, build effective yard plans, improve utilization of yard trucks and dock doors, reduce the time and labor associated with finding trailers and other yard assets, record yard truck activity and driver performance, and reduce facility, equipment and vehicle downtime, among other benefits.
