Wavelink Corp., a vendor of technology for mobile device management, is now supporting Apple iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches as part of the Wavelink Avalanche Web console. Avalanche allows administrators to track devices and receive relevant information, including street-level mapping of location, platform data, battery levels, Wi-Fi status, Bluetooth information and virtual private network (VPN) configuration. Lost or stolen devices can be wiped or locked remotely to protect corporate data. Administrators can create, revise and deploy policies and limit access to peripheral devices or unapproved applications, such as cameras or YouTube. Avalanche can be used to provision individual users or for mass usage of multiple devices. All mobile devices can be centrally managed through a secure, Web-based console. Wavelink Avalanche with Apple iOS support is now available through Wavelink and its partners. Support for Android and BlackBerry platforms will be added in the coming weeks, the vendor said.
