Aspen Technology has introduced a number of new features to its aspenONE suite of software for optimizing process manufacturing. Aspen Conceptual Design Builder, a key component of the vendor's HYSYS Upstream application, is a modeling tool that allows companies to explore multiple design scenarios when engaged in decision-making for oil and gas assets. According to AspenTech, Aspen CDB allows for a streamlined, collaborative approach to key design and decision-making processes, while minimizing project schedules and engineering man-hours. Another new feature of aspenONE streamlines greenhouse gas compliance, offering simulation modeling within aspenONE Engineering. As a result, the company said, manufacturers can improve their compliance with global health, safety and environmental regulations. AspenTech has also developed mobile versions of Aspen Properties and Aspen IP.21 software, to support improved decision-making across engineering and manufacturing. Aspen Properties Mobile provides on-the-go access to property calculations for more than 24,000 chemical species. The tools are now available via the Apple iPad, iPhone and BlackBerry devices. In another company announcement, AspenTech has released version 7.3 of its aspenONE Engineering software. Enhancements help exploration and production, refining, chemicals and other types of process industries to boost capital and energy efficiency while streamlining environmental compliance, the vendor claimed.
