Shipco Transport, a neutral non-vessel operating common carrier, has opened a new operations office in Guangzhou, China. The location handles import and export full containers and less-than-containerloads (LCLs) of ocean freight, as well as import and export airfreight. According to Shipco, Guangzhou is the biggest hub port in South China, and a key gateway for shipping in the Pearl River Delta region. In another company announcement, Shipco has revived its direct intact LCL service from New York to Piraeus, Greece. According to the company, the enhanced offering will improve port-to-port transit time from New York City to 18 days. Shipco also offers on-carriage service to the Greek cities of Athens and Thessaloniki. Shipco is a wholly owned subsidiary of Scan-Group, an international transportation company headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is a founding member of the Worldwide Alliance of global NVOs.
