Geodis Wilson, the global freight forwarder, has acquired One Source Logistics, a specialist in domestic transportation in the U.S. The deal represents the first step in Geodis Wilson's growth strategy in the U.S., according to executive vice president Philippe Gilbert. The Geodis Group, parent of Geodis Wilson, has said it intends to double its freight-forwarding business in the U.S. within the next five years. One Source Logistics offers a variety of specialized domestic transportation services focusing on truckload and less-than-truckload. Based in Minneapolis, Minn., the company operates a nationwide network of transportation, logistics and distribution services throughout the U.S. It also specializes in time-critical deliveries for the retail industry. Geodis Wilson and OSL recently established container freight stations at five major U.S. gateways: Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and Newark, N.J.
