Take Solutions Inc. has released version 5.8 of its Xtended Process Control (X.PC) software for supplier relationship management. The update offers new features for vendor-managed inventory (VMI) and visibility. External suppliers can view inventory levels across warehouses and external depots, allowing them automatically to manage and replenish materials. Users of the application can reduce inventory discrepancies through improved management of inbound materials, while controlling visibility to parts not normally tracked in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The new VMI capability promotes data integration and provides quick views of on-hand quantity and demand from sales orders or manufacturing. A color-coded "inventory dashboard" allows for the rapid identification of materials shortages. Users can forecast in 14-day and 12-week time frames, generating summary reports to keep track of all VMI activities. The new X.PC provides the ability to poll one or more sources of demand for materials from integrated ERP systems. An advanced package-management feature generates unique outer container identifications, while improvements in the tools transaction manager offer additional capability for uploading transaction data, scheduling tasks and viewing results. Barcoded labels can be generated into PDF files and printed to any thermal or document printer via the desktop.
