DHL has enhanced two of its online resources to help customers manage their international trade activities. DHL Trade Automation Services (TAS), a global online resource containing trade and customs data, now supports 74 countries, having added 11 countries in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and South America. Additions include Algeria, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. TAS helps users to comply with various import and export regulations, and download required trade documents. The system checks shipper and receiver details against government lists, embargos and sanctions. DHL has also enhanced its Import Express Online (IEO) shipping tool. Available in 111 countries, IEO gives customers the ability to coordinate communications between importers and shippers via the internet in a secure manner. Users can prepare import shipments through a fully automated process including e-mail instructions for the shipper, waybills, invoices and pickup arrangements. A new feature within IEO provides the shipper with a standing authorization from the Import Express account holder. The shipper can also receive an associated login ID to create shipments using the importer's account number.
