IES Ltd. has joined with Traxon Europe to create a network to aid freight forwarders and airlines in complying with the European Union's Import Control System (ICS). The combined IES-Traxon network will act as a data hub for ICS-related connectivity. Users interfacing with the IES Air Export software will be guided through the data-entry process for ICS compliance. The data is automatically routed to Traxon, then on to carriers. ICS is the EU's electronic customs procedure for importing goods into the region. It mandates the filing of detailed data to be submitted electronically, prior to a shipment's arrival. The new regulations are effective in all 27 EU member states, as well as Norway and Switzerland. Traxon provides a single electronic gateway to all European customs authorities. The vendor's Air Cargo Customs (ACC) Europe system creates entry summary declarations, arrival notifications and diversion requests based on standard EDI messages. Traxon validates, translates and maps the information in line with local requirements. Upon completion, the declaration is sent to the appropriate customs office. IES is a provider of transportation software for freight forwarders, non-vessel operating common carriers, customs brokers and other intermediaries.
