Oracle Corp. has introduced two new modules to aid in the tracking of emissions and environmental data. Oracle Environmental Accounting and Reporting and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Environmental Accounting and Reporting stem from the vendor's acquisition in February of Ndevr. They are intended to help users meet country-specific regulatory mandates, as well as partner requests for voluntary reporting. Companies are under increasing pressure to provide consistent, transparent and accurate collection, measurement and reporting of energy usage and emissions data, Oracle said. Offered as an option for Oracle E-Business Suite Financials and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Financial Management, the modules allow businesses to track their greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental targets against reduction targets. In addition, Oracle said, they can obtain accurate, repeatable and verifiable methodologies for greenhouse gas calculation in accordance with global standards. The modules operate from within users' existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, drawing on Oracle Business Intelligence to provide insight into environmental data. They can generate data for external reporting initiatives, such as the Carbon Disclosure Project.
