Averna has launched the Proligent Appliance, a tool for manufacturing test and quality management. The company is a provider of technology and equipment for electronics and communications original equipment manufacturers. The Proligent Appliance was designed to boost productivity and quality at every stage of a product's life cycle, Averna said. It provides visibility into all test, repair, quality-control and shipping activities in the supply chain. The intent, said Averna, is to optimize quality, increase reaction times, reduce errors and improve manufacturing efficiency. Proligent Appliance consists of four modules. Discovery allows for the data-mining and analysis of large sets of product-engineering and manufacturing information derived from the supply chain. Engineering Collaboration allows users to author and manage product configurations, test configurations and versioning, and receive alerts when issues arise or when changes are introduced. Synchronization captures and aggregates test and quality data from all manufacturing facilities, suppliers and service centers. Quality Enforcement ensures that all business rules and process controls are followed. The Proligent Appliance is geared toward mid-sized manufacturers and globally distributed companies.
