Schneider Logistics Inc. has created Integrated Delivery Services (IDS), a new offering for shippers with recurring less-than-truckload (LTL) moves. IDS draws on Schneider's supply-chain management technology, cross-docking abilities and experience in dedicated trucking. It is geared toward shippers moving LTL freight in the same geographic markets, especially those in the automotive aftermarket, heavy truck and equipment manufacturing and specialty retailing sectors. Schneider piloted IDS in Denver with shippers of competing brands and similar delivery windows, routes, shuttles and cross-dock locations. It merged freight and created customized routes based on multiple shippers' cross-docking, dedicated delivery, pool distribution, reverse logistics and LTL consolidation needs. IDS currently operates in multiple networks across the U.S., including Portland, Ore.; Sacramento, Calif.; Los Angeles, Calif., Denver, Colo.; Houston, TX; Lenexa, Kan.; Jackson, Miss.; Winchester, Va. and Memphis, Tenn. Markets targeted for expansion include the Midwest and Dallas/Fort Worth, TX.
