Schneider Logistics Inc. has introduced an Inland Logistics Management service for international shippers. Developed in 2009 in collaboration with an international retailer, the new service integrates port drayage, container management and technology, while providing critical data at each step of the supply chain. Customers get a "single snapshot" of activity from multiple supply-chain trading partners, including steamship lines, terminals, custom brokers, drayage providers and distribution centers. Schneider can couple international milestone visibility with port dray management, while synchronizing international and domestic supply-chain events. In piloting the service with a retailer customer, Schneider managed 20 milestone events, eliminated seven days in transit, and reduced the company's annual dray cost by 20 percent.
