Qualcomm Inc. has integrated its Hours of Service application with the Innovative IES Enterprise Transportation software of TMW Systems, Inc. The joint offering allows for the synchronization of hours-of-service data between trucks on the road and the home office. It will be made available to customers as part of Innovative software release 9.3, scheduled for commercial launch in November, 2011. The service will be compliant with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's driver hours-of-service regulations, giving users visibility and data synchronization into driver hours, including 11/14 and cumulative hours, and available duty hours by color coding. In another company announcement, Qualcomm has made commercially available its Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) application. The tool gives fleets a simple, closed-loop process for completing driver vehicle inspection reports. It will be available on Qualcomm's Mobile Computing Platform 110 and 200 in the fourth quarter of 2011, on the MCP100 in the first quarter of 2012, and on the MCP50 when that platform is commercially launched. Qualcomm is a provider of integrated wireless systems, applications and services to transportation and logistics companies.
