Honeywell International has created the Xenon 1900 Color scanner. According to the company, it is the industry's first hand-held area-imaging scanner with color-imaging capabilities. It allows users to capture color images and scan high-contrast color barcodes that were previously unreadable. Users can eliminate the need for multiple image-capture and storage devices, Honeywell noted. The Xenon 1900 Color, also available as the cordless Xenon 1902 Color, utilizes Adaptus Imaging Technology 6.0 and Honeywell's own ColorFusion Technology to enable the scanning of hard-to-read barcodes, including those on mobile device screens. In another company development, Honeywell has released version 2.5 of its Remote MasterMind for Mobility software. The updated application allows mobile devices to track key operational metrics, including battery life, barcode scans and keypad and touchscreen interactions. Enhancements include the ability to manage, update and remotely diagnose Microsoft Windows-based devices within a network from one centralized location. Users can determine the root cause of device-performance issues, such as recurring scan errors or low battery power, and identify a solution.
